Weekend Updates

We drove up on Thursday, we left a bit earlier than Rob. We needed to take 2 cars so that we could move the box springs from home up to the cottage. Ellie woke up sick on Thursday, changing the plans for the day a bit. We were supposed to meet my girlfriend, Julie, for the morning for some shopping and lunch....Ellie was to sick to go out. We left for Michigan around 11AM. We stopped off in Michigan City for lunch and then made a quick stop at the outlet mall - big deals. We ended up being near the same part of Michigan as Rob - so he pulled next to us and we drove up together.
We had dinner with Nana and our friend, Travis. I got the beds made up with the new frames, sheets and quilts. Looks real nice. We got to bed pretty quick because it was a long day. Friday we got up and had breakfast and got on the road to Grand Rapids. We went to the shoe outlet but didn't find anything and then to the Children's Museum - one of the kids favorites. We just sort of cruised around until it was time to got the airport to pick up Edwin.
We picked up Edwin and made it back to the cottage super quick because the kids wanted to go the clubhouse for movie night - How to Train Your Dragon. We got a couple pizzas and had dinner - Nick actually tried a piece and liked it! The kids went to movie night but left because it was too hot. Nick had taken a nap after the airport so getting them to sleep really was long, long battle.
Saturday the boys were up early to load all our donations into the pole barn for the community rummage sale this next week. Rob took the kids to the beach early - they ended up staying all day. Dean and I went shopping for some incidentals and things for dinner. When we got back we joined everyone down at the beach for a bit. The water is only about 60 degrees - pretty cold but the air is so humid it sort of feels good.
We came back and showered and got dinner going. Ellie and Nick watched Diary of a Wimpy Kid before dinner and really enjoyed it. We walked down for the sunset -it was pretty. Kids went to sleep pretty quick last night - it is just hard because it is so steamy to want to sleep in beds that seem wet.
Today we all got up and had breakfast. Ellie and I went into town to pick up some corn for dinner and made a stop off to the Dollar store and sporting goods store. Good deals continue - I got Rb North Face sandals for 14.00 - from 70.00. We came back and Rob took them down to the beach. I waited in the cottage because John, Desi, Natalie and Brady were going to stop by and visit on their way back to Chicago. They came late afternoon and we walked down to the beach and then to the soda bar for a treat. They just left and the kids just came back from the beach. Dinner time soon. 1. Thanks for the update. It is stinking hot here. Got the fridge and freezer emptied and washed. Reloaded from your house...still have your basement freezer to go. Just too hot to move too much perishable stuff. I don't know if your carrots will make it. They're getting a little wimpy. Do you want me to just throw them in the ground for now? Kitty Kitty is fine. Keep as cool as you can...did you go in the lake? It's been a long time for you! Love ya, Mom(Dad,too)
