All in the Family

Woohoo for sleeping in. Nick slept in until 9AM this morning. Ellie had been making "emergency" plans with Mom. We hung around here this morning but Mom and Dad came over a bit before lunchtime. They still have no power and have been told it will likely be Friday around noon before it comes back on.
I went to see Patricia for a session. She attacked top and bottom of my feet again and put needles where they have never been before. I came back home and had lunch. Mom read to Ellie and agreed that the book choices were crappy. The kids sort of went nuts and we decided it was time to leave the house.
We went by the house that the tree fell on yesterday - the tree has been removed and a tarp on the roof but the bricks were in a pile on the ground. We went to Dollar Tree - always an adventure to children. We picked up some summer things and some cookies that looked good to the kids. I found magic shell there - a childhood favorite.
We ran by Mom and Dad's to collect their fridge and freezer food. We visited with Katerine for a few minutes and that's when we found out about the whole lights out until Friday deal. We bagged up the good stuff from Mom and Dad's fridge and some clothes and toiletries and we were on our way back here.
The kids played outside with the neighbors while Mom and I stuffed the fridge with their food. We got dinner going - leftover night just to be able to get rid of some of the containers. Dad and Nick watered the garden - so excited how huge everything is getting. We had dinner but the kids didn't really eat well. They went out after dinner to catch lightening bugs with the neighbors.
The kids came in and we watched the first part of America's Got Talent and then Mom and Ellie read a bit more. Rob came home and we caught up for a couple minutes. We got the kids to sleep and it is a bit odd to be writing this sitting in between Mom and Dad. It is like a sleepover party.
