Road Trip

Friday morning we got Ellie off to school. I packed our clothes and gift. We got Nick over to Mom and Dad's house. Rob and I were off to Kentucky. We had a nice drive down. The further South we headed the lighter the clouds were.
We had to stop in Gary, IN to get gas. Following GPS to get us to a gas station (because you down want to just be cruising around Gary, IN) we came across a bunch of police cars and ambulances. Then we saw the coroner van and then the white sheet over the body on the street. GPS directed us to a gas station that was no longer there. We found another and got $10 in gas and were off.
We had lunch a bit after Indianapolis. Julie had warned us about the I-65 bridge into Kentucky, about 10 miles outside Kentucky traffic came to a stop. Rob navigated us around and it didn't take us too long. We got to out hotel and checked in. We had a few hours to kill so we watched tv and played on our computers. We took our showers and got dressed. This is when Rob noticed he had packed two left shoes. Panic set in. I found Target was about 2 miles away and we were off. Luckily, they had a pair of shoes that fit.
We drove to the wedding. Rob's boss called to tell Rob that his co-worker had been injured at work. Rob spent our drive on the phone trying to see if she was ok - she was. It was a beautiful night - not too chilly. The ceremony was outside and then the reception inside. Congratulations to Julie and Karlton. We left a bit before 11PM and went back to the hotel. Rob went to sleep and I sat up playing on the computer.
I was up before Rob and waited for him to go get breakfast. We ate and then I remembered Julie saying something about a zappos.com outlet. We checked it out but found nothing. We decided to get on the road and take our time heading north. We stopped off in Edinburgh to visit the outlet mall. Found some bargains at the crocs outlet.
We decided to just head home and have a date night there. Nothing beats sleeping in your own bed. We stopped to have lunch and then Rob took a turn driving. It was a good thing because lunch made me sleepy. We got home and decided to go see a movie. We saw Crazy.Stupid.Love - cute flick.
We came home and snacked on cheese and crackers. Rob started sniffling and he is getting a cold. This morning we had coffee and muffins. Rob went to the garage to work. I cleaned up the back room. It took a bit of time to match DVDs up with the cases. I went over to Mom and Dad's to drop some things off and pick Nick up.
We went back over this evening for dinner. Mom was trying out a recipe for vegan lasagna - not bad. We had dinner and birthday dessert - celebrating Jo and Rob's birthdays. We came home and Ellie took a shower. We read for a bit before putting the kids to sleep early. It was so very, very nice of Mom and Dad to take the kids for the weekend - thank you so much.
Rob went up to bed early - I drugged him up with cold meds, chest rub and vitamins. I am inspired by our back room cleanliness and hopefully can get the 1st floor in order this week. I was able to successfully wear and walk in heels this weekend. Visualising my healthy and continually healing body and the new normal, Tree
